MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) – As the Memphis Grizzlies prepare for the Western Conference Finals and a chance to play for an NBA Championship, Memphis rappers are showing their support by releasing their own Grizz-inspired theme songs.
First up is “Go Grizzlies” by Teflon Don.
“Well my song is for the crowd, my song is hype, my song is everything you can imagine,” said Teflon Don.
Let’s not forget about Al Kapone’s song, “Whoop that Trick.” It’s a Grizz fan favorite that keeps the crowd pumped during the games. In November he performed the rap song with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra.
Last but not least, “We Don’t Bluff” by Triple 6’s DJ Paul and Music Producer Drumma Boy. The song was just released four days ago and has gone viral on the internet.
“‘We Don’t Bluff,’ which was themed by something that my boy Zach Randolph, good friend of mine, would always say, like, we ain’t bluffing man, we don’t bluff, and it comes from the Bluff City,” said Drumma Boy.
“I was like, this is our perfect chance, you know, we need to make one for the city to hype them up, hype the team up. The last game we were playing Monday they were down by 10. They played the song and it turned the whole game around and they won it,” said DJ Paul.
“This is something that the city has been needing, like, the violence goes when the games play. To have something to rep and to have something to stand for from the city of Memphis is priceless,” said Drumma Boy.
